National Commission for Women sponsored One
      Day Awareness Program on NRI Marriages

























      National  Commission  for  Women  sponsored,  one-day  awareness  program  on  the  subject  of  NRI
      Marriages  –  Do's  and  Don'ts  was  successfully  organized  on  August  11,  2023,  jointly  by  the  Women’s
      Development Cell & Internal Complaints Committee of Gujarat University and the Women Development
      Cell  of  Kadi  Sarva  Vishwavidyala.  This  enlightening  event  received  sponsorship  from  the  National
      Commission  for  Women.  The  inauguration  involved  the  ceremonial  lighting  of  lamps  by  esteemed
      dignitaries in attendance.
























      The event's first session was led by Advocate Siddharth Kheskani (High Court of Gujarat), who delved
      into  the  legal  complexities  surrounding  NRI  Marriages,  rights  of  jurisdictions,  and  available  remedies
      pertaining to such marriages. The subsequent session, hosted by Prof. (Dr.) Kamayani Mathur, Director
      of the School of Psychology, Philosophy, and Education, focused on the psychological challenges and
      impacts  associated  with  NRI  Marriages.  The  final  session,  conducted  by  Dr.  Divya  Raviya,  Deputy
      Superintendent  of  Police  in  the  Anti-Corruption  Bureau  of  Gujarat  Police,  addressed  the  role  of  law
      enforcement  in  mitigating  potential  issues  within  these  marriages.  The  entire  event  took  place  at  the
      Brahmani Krupa Hall on KSV Campus and attracted over 300 students from various colleges within Kadi
      Sarva  Vishwavidyala,  the  SHE  team  of  the  police,  Member  of  KSV  trust  WDC  Coordinators  from
      participating  colleges.  Attendees  were  furnished  with  informative  booklets  provided  by  National
      Commission of Women for future reference.
