15th Prakriti: International Documentary Film

Festival at Gujarat University

It was the first time ever when a film festival was

hosted by GU which was a grand success.

“15th Prakriti – International Documentary
Film Festival” - a popular international
documentary film festival was organized by
Educational Multimedia Research Centre
(EMRC), Gujarat University and Consortium
for Educational Communication (CEC) New
Delhi on 28th to 30th October.

Selected documentaries of national and international repute
were screened. Producer and directors of selected films, Directors
of 21 media research centre of various part of India and
professionals, researchers and student of media education
approx. 420 participants attended the festival. Parallel to the film
festival a workshop on “Documentary Filmmaking in the Digital
Age: Crafting Compelling Stories” was scheduled. The film festival
and workshop were based on “Environment, Development,
Human rights and Swachchh Bharat”. Inaugural ceremony was
graced by Hon'ble Governor of Gujarat, Shri Acharya Devvrat ji,
Prof. Jagat Bhushan Nadda, Director of CEC New Delhi, Dr. Neerja
A Gupta, Vice Chancellor of Gujarat University, Dr. Sunil Mehru,
Joint Director of CEC, and Mr. Naresh Dave, Director (I/C) of
EMRC Gujarat University. Gujarat University was commended for
its pioneering role in providing multidisciplinary education to the
youth, being the first university in Gujarat to do so.
